Triogen won the Mining Cleantech Challenge in 2017

Designed to connect clean technology to mining, the first MCC in 2017 attracted 11 companies. Those cleantech companies interested in sharing their products and technologies can apply under the topics of advanced materials or chemicals; power management, methane/NOX gas detection or control; remote/distributed power, remote sensing and more.

The MCC provides targeted connections between mining industry operators, OEMs and clean technology solution providers with the goal of meeting industry’s needs while introducing solutions to the marketplace.

Ten will be selected from all applications to present, and the winning company will receive a US$5,000 prize.

“CCIA’s partnerships with disparate industry sectors such as mining and oil and natural gas continue to prove fruitful for both clean technologies and the traditional energy and extractive sectors,” CCIA executive director Shelly Curtiss said. “Working together, creative connection programmes such as the MCC help advance early stage clean technology companies and continue to foster innovation within the mining industry.”

CCIA’s programme partners include Newmont, Fresnillo, McEwen, Ausenco, Jolimont Global, Resource Capital Funds, Consulate General of Canada, Rocky Mountain Institute, Colorado School of Mines, Davis Graham & Stubbs and Clareo.

Applications are due February 28. More information can be found here.
