PRESS RELEASE: This is Newtrax’s fourth deployment in a Fresnillo mine, after Saucito, San Julian and Cienega. The Fresnillo operation, located in Zacatcas, Mexico, is one of the world’s oldest continuously operating mines; producing 33% of the group’s total silver in 2015 and generating 20.1% of total adjusted revenue.
The Newtrax safety system will be deployed on 2,566 personal safety devices and Bi MET will be installed on 260 items of mobile equipment.

To achieve this goal, we decided to apply innovative technologies such as Newtrax to fulfil our promise of having the safest and most productive underground mine possible.”
The safety and productivity solutions that will be deployed at Fresnillo mine include:
- Proximity Warning;
- Personnel & Vehicle tracking;
- Man Down;
- Mine-wide Evacuation notification;
- Anti-Collision Emergency Stop system; and
- Mobile Equipment Telemetry system.

Deployment of the mine-wide system will start in mid-2018.
