The companies said the partnership can aid companies in mining as well as logistics and agriculture to manage asset delivery across long distances and in a way that is both reliable and cost-effective for customers. Additionally, the pairing will reduce the carbon footprints of all parties.

"The NX01 intelligent tracking solution is up to 50% less expensive, without compromising reliability of the service," Myriota management said, adding security, battery life and service will all be enhanced.

"Industries such as mining and long-haul transport are facing an uncertain new reality with less staff on the ground than ever before - the ability to reliably and affordably track assets is key to the stability of these industries during a time where there is a cap on available labour."

Its partner added: "Powered by Myriota's low-power IoT solutions and vast constellation of satellites, the NX01…is primed to be Future Fleet's most advanced asset tracking device to date."

The system is set to launch during the December quarter of this year.

Australian-based Future Fleet was founded in 2003 and provides advanced telematics for fleet management across Australia and New Zealand.

Myriota, based in Adelaide, Australia, offers global connectivity in the age of the Internet of Things (IoT) through its technology.
