The technology will be implemented at Eldorado's Hellas Gold Skouries copper-gold concentrator project in the north of the country.
Metso Outotec will provide engineering, manufacturing, and supply of several of its Planet Positive Larox FFP3512 filters. It will also provide installation and commissioning advisory services.
The Larox filters are fully automatic, with a fast-opening filter press. It also comes with membrane technology and high-performance sidebar design.
The filters provide sustainable high-volume tailings dewatering at low operating costs. Life cycle costs are also low, Metso Outotec said.
"For tailings management, the Skouries project will use dry stack tailings impoundment, which requires less space, reduces water consumption and maximises recovery of process water for reuse," Eldorado Senior Vice President of Projects and Transformation Brock Gill said.
Metso Outotec has previously supplied the Skouries project with technologies for grinding, flotation, thickening, and automation.
The order is valued at EUR 14 million (US$13.8 million).
The Skouries project is expected to yield 67 million pounds of copper ore over its 20-year mine life. Average annual gold production for the first five years is projected to be 182,000 ounces of gold, Eldorado found in a feasibility study in December 2021.
