AMI RockChain said its digital platform's capabilities will be expanded by the purchase of Edmonton-based TerraShift, which is also focused on resource data and search intelligence.
The Rockchain digital platform, created by Aggregates Marketing Inc., currently includes a growing network of over 700 suppliers, transportation and equipment companies across Western Canada. Additionally, it incorporates an algorithm module that determines the best supply-transport combination to help improve utilization for aggregate producers and trucking companies.
"The combination of TerraShift with AMI RockChain represents a dual growth program respectively and together, from inherent synergies, which contribute to further market penetration across Western Canada and into Ontario," said Dana Archibald, chief operating officer and president of AMI RockChain.
TerraShift also has experience dealing with resource exploration and development, environmental and regulatory planning, resource management, compliance reporting, and reclamation across Western Canada and Ontario.
"The engineering expertise that TerraShift has in navigating environmental and regulatory approvals, sustainability, and compliance reporting is extremely valuable for developing resource projects in the industry as well as in the corporation's portfolio," said Robert Beekhuizen, chief executive of Athabasca Minerals.
