The total price tag of the order is PLN 81,000,000, or about US$22.4 million. Delivery is expected in the first half of next year.
The longwall will not be the first for the customer, and joins a large fleet of equipment it has already provided to mines across the country, including more than 700 powered roof supports, armoured face conveyors, beam stage loaders and PIOMA rail transportation systems.
“Kazakhstan is an important direction of international expansion for FAMUR,” the company said, adding that its service to Kazakh mines has extended over several decades, and it has watched the country undergo a major economic transformation over the last 25 years.
Today Kazakhstan is one of its most promising markets, CEO Miroslaw Bendzera said, and in addition to its involvement with mining events in the region FAMUR is also a part of the Polish-Kazakh Economic Forum.
“Another contract concluded with JSC ArcelorMittal Temirtau proves that we are perceived as a reliable partner and our technological solutions are successful in Kazakh mines,” Bendzera added.
