The 256,618lb (116,400 kg) wheel loader, purpose-built to load 70-150 short ton (64-136t) haul trucks, is equipped with an EPA Tier 4 Final-certified emission regulations-compliant engine.
The US subsidiary of Komatsu said the new bucket design, with modified profile, maximises bucket fill for increased productivity.
Robert Hussey, product marketing manager for Komatsu America, added: "The large pillarless cab offers great visibility, and the higher capacity air suspension seat along with the electronically controlled suspension system (ECSS) provides a smooth ride for better travel performance to keep operators comfortable throughout long shifts."
Equipped with Komatsu SmartLoader Logic, the machine should maintain its productivity levels with less fuel consumption.
The loader also comes with an automatic dig system and a semi-automatic approach-and-dump system to help less experienced operators be more productive and reduce fatigue for experienced operators.
As an optional add-on, the OEM said KomVision could provide radar obstacle detection, and a six-camera system on a dedicated LCD monitor offered a bird's-eye view around the machine and an audible alert when an obstacle is detected in the working area.
The Komtrax Plus monitoring service, in turn, offers remote diagnostics of machine heath and performance with operator ID and integration with third-party telematics systems.
