The low-viscous, fast-reacting, two-component polyurethane injection resin is suitable to consolidate the sealing of structures for soil and water that have high water flows or pressures.
According to the company, the new release forms a polyurethane foam by increasing its volume by eight- to ten-fold in wet structures. In dry structures, the product forms a solid mass.
Suitable applications for PC Tunnelinject 2K 6822 LV include void filling; stabilisation and water dealing of areas such as deep drill holes, porous rocks and concrete constructions; soil consolidation; and sealing water leakages with high water ingress in shafts as well as dams, canals, mines, and tunnels.
"The resin has a very low viscosity (175mPas average at 20°C) that seals even the finest cracks," the company said. "When it reacts in a solid mass without the presence of water, it has a compression strength around 70MPa."
The strength of the product, as a result, means that users do not need as much resin injected. Additionally, because of the pumping effect of the product when in contact with water, the resin can push itself further for greater reinforcement.
