The miner said Steinert US is ready to ship the KSS 100 ore-sorter from its European factory after the unit met required certifications.
Bayhorse is projecting it will be installed in early November at the Silver Valley operation. As it waits, crews are collecting and stockpiling significant quantities of mineralised material that is ready for processing with the ore-sorter.
New company operations manager Levi Duncan confirmed its development at Bayhorse is continuing at three faces: the Sunshine Zone in the upper adit; 50ft below the Sunshine Zone, now called the “Legend Zone” that appears to extend west; and the Big Dog Zone, which prior exploration has indicated is open along strike to the west.
The Bayhorse mine, located northeast of Huntington, Oregon, near the state’s eastern border with Idaho, previously said it was aiming to extract 30,000 tons (at an estimated 17-20 oz/t grade) at 600 tons per week under its 2017 work programme.
