The new location includes a repair shop, customer centre and a configuration centre with a dedicated supplies and parts warehouse. The 9,000ft2 (2,743m2) site will have a staff of 18.
According to Rental Pulse, hydraulic attachment tools US and Canada vice-president Matt Cadnum said no sales or service disruptions stemmed from the move, and that Atlas Copco, which marked a 48% jump in annual sales in August and hit a new invoicing record, will now be able to service its customers to an even greater level.
“We’re not done. We’re still growing,” he said, adding that operating as Epiroc gives it even more room to grow.
The parts and supplies portion of the facility was relocated from Atlas Copco’s Charlotte, North Carolina distribution centre; that move was a component of Atlas Copco Mining and Construction USA’s forthcoming name change to Epiroc.
Atlas Copco will remain a separate company, focusing on industrial clients, while newly established company Epiroc will encompass mining, infrastructure and natural resources equipment.
“The change to Epiroc is all good news for our customers,” US and Canada product manager for hydraulic attachments Rich Elliott told the outlet. The company’s Competency Center will pool its energies for its 89 models of hydraulic attachments, including breakers, combi cutters, concrete busters, pulverisers, multi grapples, compactors, bucket crushers, hydro magnets, steel cutters and drum cutters.
