The new product, a flux-cored welding wire, is ideal for installation, assembly or repair work on wear parts subject to sliding wear. Its design is for hardfacing components in moderate to low-impact applications using an open arc welding process.
The same wear resistance is guaranteed from the surface through 75% depth of overlay in multi-layer deposit, and its optimal alloy formulation forms a carbide composition to provide the combination of wear resistance and homogenous bonding
Typical Duroxite 100 applications, according to SSAB, include crusher hammers, coke hammers, gyratory crusher cones and mantles, dredging pumps, dragline bucket liners and other items.
“Fabricators can use the wire for cap welding their Duroxite 100 products and be assured that the weld will have the same wear resistance resulting in a consistent service life throughout the overlay product,” the company said of the new release.
“In addition, the final overlay deposit using the wire will have similar properties as the Duroxite 100 overlay plate and pipe including chemistry, surface hardness and working temperature, making it a perfect match for any hardfacing welding needed on Duroxite 100 overlay products.”
Duroxite 100 wire is available globally from Hardox Wearparts.
