The shipment, at 2,578kg, represents all of the product produced at the project during the commissioning phase.
With commissioning now completed, and the plant ramping up to steady state production, the miner said shipment sizes will now be significantly larger.
"Our first shipment of high-quality heavy rare earth carbonate from Browns Range demonstrates that we have got the circuit right for the production from xenotime ore," managing director and CEO George Bauk said, adding that it made adjustments to the circuit to ensure on-spec production.
"This first shipment is just the beginning of our journey. As commissioning progresses..., we continue to attract international interest in the project and product."
Browns Range, located in the East Kimberley region, is 100% company-owned. It is considered by Northern Minerals to be its flagship and contains several deposits and prospects previously found to have high-value dysprosium and other heavy rare earths (HREs) hosted within the xenotime mineralisation.
