Cummins introduces PrevenTech for Mining

Cummins' new remote-monitoring solution uses IoT tech for engine diagnostics

Cummins' newly released PrevenTech has three service levels

Cummins' newly released PrevenTech has three service levels

The new release offers continuous analysis and advanced detection of potential equipment health issues to mitigate impacts of performance and improve a mine's productivity. It offers a streamlined maintenance and service planning at three distinct service levels to support any operation with flexibility.

The company said PrevenTech works by applying connectivity, big data and analytics to a machine's engine hardware, helping a mine to identify and diagnose performance issues faster and more accurately. It works with Internet of Things (IoT) technology and global security standards.

A mine can also use PrevenTech to track and monitor its assets, or take things a step further by retaining Cummins' experts to oversee equipment and make personalised, real-time recommendations.

"PrevenTech will enable uptime while reducing costs and boosting performance for our customers," Cummins executive director of power systems mining and aftermarket Beau Lintereur said.

"As we celebrate our 100-year commitment to innovation and dependability, Cummins will continue to challenge the impossible and deliver valuable technologies for our customers across vertical markets."

Cummins' tech incubation group Digital Accelerator said PrevenTech will be available for mining clients this month, with other market applications to follow soon after.
