Brewery Creek mine sets up camp

Golden Predator Mining has installed all-season camp facilities at its Brewery Creek mine

The 49-person campus includes an 80-person industrial kitchen, arctic corridors, a recreational and mud room, and dorm rooms. It has been added as an extension to the mine's existing 24-person camp and facilities.

The mine's proximity to the nearby Dawson City community will allow much of the operational workforce to live and work from there; the miner is planning to add a shuttle service as well to reduce the number of personnel required to be camp-housed.

Additionally, Golden Predator said the camp should be sufficient for future anticipated exploration, development and operational activities.

"The camp is now installed with maintenance work ongoing through the winter to ensure a fully operational camp for the spring start-up," CEO Janet Lee-Sheriff said.

"In addition to realising significant upfront capital savings, the camp enables a more aggressive execution schedule once anticipated construction begins."

Brewery Creek, a heap-leach gold mine, was previously operated from 1996 to 2002. Its restart has been in progress since 2009, and redevelopment work is expected to commence in 2020.
