The Nevada mine, which recorded initial production from its processing plant on December 16, sent the order to offtake partner Concord Resources.
Pumpkin Hollow has been on a fast track to fruition; an initial move to commence construction at the underground copper operation came 16 months ago in the second half of 2018. Nevada Copper's full plan includes both underground and open-pit production.
"Our first shipment of copper concentrate has left Pumpkin Hollow, representing another important milestone as we look forward to continuing our ramp-up to full commercial production in 2020," CEO Matt Gili said.
Pumpkin Hollow, 100% owned by Nevada Copper, is the first new copper complex in the US in more than 10 years. The miner said the western Nevada site also has gold and silver resources.
It is projecting a 13.5-year mine life from the underground portion of the complex, and a 19-year operational life from the open-pit element.
