The La Paz County operation has completed construction of the pad and liner installation. Work has started on crushing material with the laying of an 18-inch liner protection layer with low-grade material.
Stacking will begin late next week with the completion of the protection layer and leaching shortly afterwards.
The mine's cyanide tank has been delivered and is being prepared for production.
Finally, pipeline and well pumps are being installed. The company said pumping activity should be ready by the end of next week. Infrastructure items such as administrative trailer space is en route.
"After facing obstacles with the liner crew having COVID and significant rain causing delays…it is all coming together with production just around the corner," Tombstone CEO and president Alan Brown said.
The Bonanza mine property includes the Harquahala and Golden Eagle mines. Located in Salome, it is 40% owned by Tombstone and 60% held by Goldrock Resources. The joint venture is called Bonanza Mining.
