Epiroc made the move on July 1, after its previous Maputo office became inadequate. The company said it first made the decision to establish a foothold in the country's capital city in 2013.
"Our new premises, situated only a short distance from the old building, consolidates the offices and warehouse under one roof," country manager Pedrinho Martins said. "With the necessary flexibility to accommodate a growing structure, the facility complements our competencies and capabilities and also presents an ideal space for receiving customers. We are poised for further growth and success."
Martins added that the office and its team of 10 will ensure optimum performance over a longer lifespan and support for products and equipment with a comprehensive, specialist aftermarket offering of service, parts, training and components remanufacturing.
Epiroc Mozambique is supported by a major hub in Moatize, Tete, and has a site presence at the Vale Moatize coal mine. It delivers drilling equipment and consumables, hydraulic attachments and industrial compressed air solutions for mining, as well as cement and aggregates, drilling and blasting, industrial and other sectors.
