The South Africa-based company said the model, which is ideal for tripping top soil and free digging as well, has a 4.2m2 bucket, allowing it to load a 40t ADT in less than seven passes. Its maximum digging depth is 7,620mm and maximum excavating distance totals 12,050mm; additionally, the machine's maximum digging height is 11,200mm, while the maximum dumping height is 7,250mm.
The machine, featuring a 7m boom and 3m arm, has a total bucket digging force of 402kN and an arm digging force of 345kN.
"The SY75 will definitely carve a niche for itself in the market, due to its reliable power source and impeccable back-up from GEM," SANY range general manager Andre Steenkamp said, noting that the Isuzu 6WG1X engine delivers it a max torque of 2,138Nm at 1,500 revolutions per minute (RPM).
"Hence, the excavator has sufficient horsepower to get the job done quietly and efficiently and, perhaps most importantly, without breaking the bank."
GEM noted that the second unit to be imported from China by the company has already been pre-sold prior to its delivery. Additionally, a large copper mine in Zambia ordered four units for a trial - and has since ordered six more due to the success of that trial.
While the SANY brand may be new to the South African mining industry, particularly for surface mining, Steenkamp said the addition of the new model will allow it to offer a complete line of solutions for any size of operation.
"SANY is on a par with well-known competitor brands when it comes to technology, but at a fraction of the price. It also innovates constantly, and will be launching two new products at bauma China in Shanghai in November," he said.
The SY75, which comes with a self-diagnostic system on-board, has a standard warranty of 18 months or 3,000 hours.
