Symboticware, Calsta partnership bolsters asset management

Canadian tech provider teams up with Aussie consulting firm to bring data solutions to Australia

The teaming of Symboticware and Calsta will combine the former’s data delivery platform with the latter’s offerings to enhance asset management

The teaming will combine Symboticware's data delivery platform with Calsta's offerings to enhance asset management, the pair said. In addition, Calsta will become a value-added reseller for its new partner in Australia's territories, as well as several west and central African countries.

The combination was confirmed May 31.

As a provider of asset management and business improvement services, Calsta requires a very high level of data integrity. Symboticware officials said, through the collaboration, users can now pull real-time data from almost any original equipment manufacturer or third-party sensor, and in turn decisions can be made from this focused data set to evaluate individual assets and set the course for improvement initiatives.

Symboticware president and CEO Kirk Petroski said: "Our partnership with Calsta is significant as we introduce advanced data management solutions to environments where vital impact can be realised."

Calsta Australia managing director Peter Butler said the teaming opens "a whole new world" for its customers in that they will now have access to critical real-time data.

"This ‘unfair advantage' combines harvesting a very high level of quality data, and specialised site-specific services, to reduce the total cost of asset ownership, improve production and have a positive impact in safety."

In March, Symboticware officially opened its new US/Mexico headquarters in Tuscon, Arizona, US. The facility, which will house 20 workers within five years, will focus on asset reliability services to include criticality analysis, failure mode analysis, condition-based maintenance and performance metrics.
