Magna officials said the partnership is a milestone, just the latest positive news for the tyre maker that has reported "significant" growth trajectory over the last half year.

"We see that distribution and partnerships have played an important role in our brand growth story so far and believe that Tires Direct can spread it even more, with its nationwide warehouses all across USA, the commercial medium truck centres and wide network of dealers," the company said.

On the heels of the US office and partnership news, Magna also said it is eyeing more opportunities in the near future, including its plan in the coming months to have and maintain a full range of products in strategic warehouses across the US. To get there, it has upped its production.

"The growing demand for non-Chinese tyres has increased in the last months," Magna explained. "Due to this increase, we have further expanded our production capacity in Holland and Thailand. The combination of our innovating European engineered technology and local Dutch production ensures the premium quality manufacturing requested by our USA customers."

Magna Tyres will be supplying its US customers with mining and earthmoving, port and material handling and solid tyres from its local network of warehouses.

The company's US distribution warehouse locations include Los Angeles, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Jacksonville, Florida; Coldwater, Ohio; Clayton, North Carolina; and Chicago, Illinois.
