Cortex Interactive software rolled out at Thiess sites

Thiess will use immersive induction and employment training software developed by Cortex Interactive

Cortex Interactive's Learning and Assessment Management Platform (LAAMP) uses a mix of mobile, virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality technologies to deliver learning and training differently.

Under a contract it signed with Thiess last year, LAAMP has already been rolled out at 20 sites across Australia and Indonesia, including at Malek and East Kalimantan. Other sites in Mongolia, Africa and Chile will also be online by the end of the year.

Timothy Angel, managing director of Cortex Interactive, said the Indonesian rollout of the software was the first deployment outside Australia, with several other countries set to follow in what promises to be a busy year.

He added that Mongolia had originally been targeted for the first rollout, however the coronavirus travel ban put a stop to that.

"So, our focus is to continue to rollout to additional sites in Australia and Indonesia and then go to Mongolia, Chile and Africa," Angel said.

He said Cortex trained workers on the software at each site.

Angel said while the clients provided the hardware, the company essentially turned on LAAMP, which was cloud-based so it could be administered, managed and supported from Adelaide.
