RPMG said Revolution develops and sells the Schedule Optimisation Tool (SOT), a strategic financial optimisation tool for underground mines. The solution is designed to help planners improve their productivity and profitability through optimisation of the net present value (NPV) over a life-of-mine shedule.

SOT stemmed from Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corporation (MIRARCO) research at Laurentian University in Canada. It can generate life-of-mine schedules to comply with specified precedence and operational constraints.

"RPMGlobal was born from the belief that mine planning needs to be built on sound economics and the Revolution Mining products strategy is completely aligned with that core value," RPMGlobal CEO and MD Richard Mathews said.

RPMG noted that, as part of the acquisition, it also acquired Revolution Mining Software's Attain and SurfaceSOT software solutions.
