Scania Mining has successfully launched the Scania Heavy Tipper for the global market on the 29th August 2017. With more robust components, the new performance step has 25% more payload capacity compared to current range. Other benefits include up to 5% increase in operational uptime and 5,000 more service life hours - reducing the cost of operation over the product's life cycle and increasing residual value.
Still with lower weight to payload ratio, Scania Heavy Tipper is able to compete with articulated dump truck and rigid dump truck. With up to 15% lower cost per tonne, it is indeed a game changer for the mining industry.
The goal for Scania Mining is to increase the operating economy for the customers, and bring all the experience gained from the lean production system into mining, combining the offering of vehicles and optimized transport solutions with the needs of each customer.
The global event kicked off at Club Med Lake Paradise Hotel. The esteemed guests were invited to the night event comprised of the presentation of Scania history, its mining solutions, followed by the product reveal. The main highlight from the evening event was definitely the product reveal, and also the table projection telling the story of why mining is still such an important industry for our technologically advanced world.
The morning event was held at the mine site nearby in the town of Mogi Das Cruzes. The session involved the presentation of Scania Site Optimisation, Tailored Product, On-Site Service, and Real-Time Data stations, as well as the opportunity to Test and Drive.
This launch honours Scania Mining's strategy to bring together tailor-made products, on-site services and connectivity in order to integrate further into the customers' operations.
"Mining is a very important industry in our country, so for us, to share this experience, to share this great product with our customers, it's the most important event of the year. We have a great plan to bring this product to Russian market and bring more value to our customers" said Konstantin Kravchenko, Mining Manager, Scania Russia.
The event spanned one week, with 4 sessions conducted in three languages and over 300+ guests and press attendees. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from both customers, distributors, as well as the press.
"We've been working with Scania on the bus side for some time. And it's been really good with the support systems and I think being here is a game changer for me. And I think that my company is going to do the same to go with Scania because in fact…driving this monster…it drove better than my Range Rover back home. So I think this monster here is a game changer and Scania has done a wonderful job. I cannot regret it". - Nana Atakora Bonsra
The main message for the event is together with the new performance step, value-added services and connectivity solutions, Scania is shifting from being a product manufacturer to becoming a transport solutions provider by helping the customers increase revenue, manage risks, and reduce cost.
