Industrial technology manufacturer Intelline has detailed plans to launch its Modular Linear Generator (MLG) to help mining stakeholders move away from diesel fuel.
Launched at MINExpo 2021, the MLG includes Intelline's CAVIE module, which uses up to 40% less diesel by utilising a combustion chamber architecture and variable piston valvetrain control.
The company said CAVIE modules can also switch fuel types and run with combination fuels. Its generators can make it easier to use sustainable fuels, such as natural gas, biofuels, synthetic fuels and hydrogen; the greater choice is designed to protect customers from price fluctuation.
The CAVIE modules are designed for up to 50kW output from a single module and can be stacked together in one enclosure for higher power outputs, up to 2MW.
Intelline said it is currently filling spots for pilot testing of the CAVIE-enabled MLG, which is due to begin in 2022, and full roll-out scheduled to start in 2025.
