The transition was effective April 1.
The plant will now serve as the processing hub for the southern area of the Central Murchison gold project (CMGP), an area now collectively called Cue Gold Operations (CGO).
Westgold managing director Peter Cook noted that the plant – now the third operating in the Murchison region along with Bluebird and Fortnum – was brought online both on time and under its targeted budget.
“Our main operations at Meekatharra have now fully recovered from the severe flooding impacts in the last quarter, and we look forward to continuing our ramp up of gold output with the addition of the third plant," he said.
The CMGP project strategy has a number of current and proposed underground mines and open pits being developed over time.
