The purchase, which carries a price tag of about C$500,000 (US$389,289), also includes the rental of a 40t excavator, two 2.5m3 loaders and a pair of 30t dump trucks. All will be used to support pan tailings and bantam material processing at Oena that have been left at the site from previous mining activity.

The fleet additions should be working at the mine by the end of the June quarter.

Tango, which said diamonds recovered from the operation will be solely for its own account, added that partner Bluedust 7 is continuing their detailed geological work at the mine. The company first tapped the contractor last October.

The mining right at Oena, which is on the lower Orange River in the Northern Cape province, consists of 8,800ha and corresponding infrastructure and processing equipment.
