MACA has been awarded the eight-month construction contract, valued at A$28 million (US$20 million), through its subsidiary MACA Interquip.

Starting in February next year, the work will include the installation of a new semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill and refurbishment of an existing mineral processing plant.

The contract follows early contractor involvement with the management team at Adaman Resources, which has enabled an advancement in the design process and the submission of orders for long lead-time capital items.

MACA will employ a workforce of approximately 40 people for the project.

Commencement of the project remains subject to finalisation of Adaman's project finance documentation.

MACA's operations director Geoff Baker said: "We look forward to working with the team at Adaman Resources. MACA Interquip has an excellent record of successful refurbishment delivery.

"Our alliance with NCP International, who manufacture grinding mills and install complete comminution circuits globally, as an installation partner will provide MACA Interquip with further exposure as an integrated mineral processing supplier.

"The recent contract awards for MACA Interquip demonstrates the success of the MACA strategy to diversify its services within the resource industry."

The company also said the new contract ensures a strong order book for MACA Interquip for the 2019 calendar year, when added to the letter of intent for the refurbishment of a gold-processing plant for Echo Resources. In addition, MACA has recently been working on processing plants at the Savannah nickel project for Panoramic Resources and the Degrussa copper project for Sandfire Resources.
