The mine, which recorded its first gold pour in August 2018, has since processed a further 5,000t of ore that was comprised of remnant stoping and development ore from Comet Vale's 3.3 and 3.6-levels and decline development.
Orminex said the mine's grade reconciliation is currently being completed as mine progresses and decline development advances toward the 4-level where it is targeting fresh historical high-grade ore.
Comet Vale's next processing campaign is scheduled for next month. Once fresh ore is mined from below the 4-level, the operation's mine and processing will hit steady-state production.
The mine, which is being managed by underground contracting partner GBF Mining, is continuing to operate 24 hours a day. GBF recently entered a deal with Orminex for a 12-month lease with an attached option to buy 50% of the Burbanks mill, which has processed both ore campaigns from Comet Vale to date. The mill has sufficient capacity to process all of the Comet Vale ore once the mine is in full production, officials said.
