Unplanned downtime costs businesses billions of dollars each year globally. For mining customers, the impact of plant and equipment failures can be enormous: production stoppages and reduced productivity.
That's why FLSmidth has developed ECS/UptimeGo, a downtime analysis solution to help plant staff identify the issues that interrupt the operation, and prevent unwanted future downtime.
Real-time dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) enable the measurement of the real impact of machine failures interrupting the production. In addition, ECS/UptimeGo provides Pareto charts and the ability to monitor maintenance and reliability KPIs to give operators the fullest possible picture of a downtime event and its causes. Having this information is vital in correcting the causes of stoppages, increasing asset utilisation and return on assets.
Mikael Lindholm, FLSmidth chief digital officer, said: "ECS/UptimeGo shows how FLSmidth uses digital technologies and practical experience to further enhance the productivity of cement and mining customers."
ECS/UptimeGo can be integrated with existing process control systems and can be paired with FLSmidth ECS/ControlCenter for an automated process to gather all production stoppages. It also features a user-friendly graphic interface that allows operators to have all the information they need to fully document and analyse stoppages.
King Becerra, global product line manager, digitalization at FLSmidth, commented: "We've designed ECS/UptimeGo with users in mind. This software is intuitive to use and will be quickly mastered by users."
By allowing businesses to significantly reduce the frequency of unplanned downtime, ECS/UptimeGo can deliver a productivity gain to operations that will cover the cost of the software many times over.
