Amarillo chooses Metso Outotec crushing station

Toronto-based producer Amarillo Gold has chosen Finnish mining engineering group Metso Outotec to install a modular ‘FIT’ crushing station at its Posse Gold greenfield mining project in Goiás state, central Brazil.

FIT station capacities range from 200 up to 3,000 tons per hour

The crushing station will have a design capacity of 540t/h of ROM with an average production of 102.000Oz of gold/year in years one to four. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

It will be the first full market implantation of a FIT station since its launch last May, said Metso Outotec.

The Fit stations have steel structures that are supplied in modules that fit easily into containers for transportation.

This also reduces on-site welding usually required and allows for quicker startup - the stations' capacities range from 200 up to 3,000 tons per hour.

"We are very proud to have the honor to work with Amarillo Gold. They are a frontrunner aiming to select the best technology for their project. Metso Outotec's sustainable FIT™ crushing stations are a good fit with this objective, as they are designed for CAPEX reduction and shorter lead times, with ease of installation and maintenance," said Guillaume Lambert, vice president, Crushing at Metso Outotec.

The Posse Gold project, which has gold resources of approximately 1.2 million contained ounces, is in the company's Mara Rosa Property in Goiás state

Our aim is to build a modern, sustainable mining operation, and Metso Outotec's FIT Station fulfills our ambitious targets for the process," said Arao Portugal, country manager at Amarillo Gold.
