The demonstration plant for Euro Manganese's Chvaletice manganese project in the Czech Republic will be up and running in the second quarter of 2022.
Components for the plant are being assembled in China, with cold commissioning of the plant expected this month. The components will be shipped to Chvaletice early in 2022.
Euro Manganese is targeting the second quarter of 2022 for the hot commissioning and startup of the plant.
The demonstration plant will produce large-scale samples of manganese products. Around 55% of the first-year production at Chvaletice have been allocated to five customers who have signed non-binding MoUs.
Chvaletice's pilot plant has also restarted, and will produce approximately 50 kilograms of electrolytic manganese metal and 150 kilograms of manganese sulphate monohydrate, which will be delivered to prospective customers in the first quarter of 2022.
Euro Manganese is continuing work on its definitive feasibility study, and is considering a circular energy approach for carbon dioxide and hydrogen in its extraction and purification processes.
The Final Environmental and Social Impact Statement will be submitted in early 2022.
Euro Manganese expects to announce the appointment of a CEO shortly.
