Metso Outotec has been awarded a €100 million order from Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Company.

The Finnish company will provide equipment to Almalyk's MOF3 copper-gold-molybdenum concentrator complex in Almalyk, in the Tashkent region of the country.

The concentrator will have a planned capacity of 60 million tonnes per annum. The concentrator is located next to the Yoshlik-1 deposit.

Metso Outotec will provide basic engineering, manufacturing, and supply of the Higmill regrinding mills, TankCell flotation equipment and high-rate thickeners, as well as FrothSense+ froth cameras.

The company will also provide Larox PF filters, slurry pumps, MHC Series hydrocyclones, Courier 6X SL elemental on-line analysers and PSI500i particle size analysers.

Metso Outotec will also send Almalyk a process control system, and installation and commissioning advisory services and spare parts.

"Special emphasis has been put on optimising metallurgical performance and energy-efficiency of the concentrator plant," President of the Minerals Business at Metso Outotec Markku Teräsvasara said.

"Our delivery will feature several Planet Positive technologies contributing to sustainable operations."

The Yoshlik-1 deposit entered production in 2021, according to the PorterGeo database, and is planned to increase production from the current 23 million tonnes of ore to 65 million tonnes of ore in 2023, and again to 74 million tonnes of ore by 2035.
