The relocation of a new P&H 4100XPC unit at Rio Tinto's Hail Creek mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin needed uninterrupted power with flexibility and urgency that a grid connection couldn't provide. Mobile, modular high-voltage power enabled a 20km relocation of the shovel into a new working position at the mine face without the need for large cables or moving substations. This ensured minimal downtime and loss of productivity, and reduced demand on resources.
