Monadelphous was awarded two new contracts with wholly owned subsidiaries of Fortescue Metals Group.

These include a three-year contract, with a two-year extension option, for fixed plant maintenance crane services and shutdown crane services with FMG Solomon at the Solomon Hub site in the Pilbara region, as well as a contract to provide abrasive blasting, cleaning and relining of up to 900 carbon steel ore wagons for Pilbara Infrastructure in Port Hedland.

The engineering company will also be working on an upgrade to the water treatment plant providing the potable water supply, treatment and distribution system at BHP Billiton Western Australia Iron Ore’s mining area C operation in the northwest of the state.

Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said: “With the award of these contracts we are continuing to build on key customer relationships and expanding our services to new customers. We are particularly pleased with the award of the new crane services contract, which is in line with our strategy of extending our service offering to core markets, and we look forward to developing our relationship with Fortescue Metals Group.”
