While the Swedish company did not indicate the specific destinations for the machines, it did confirm that one of them is the Zhomart copper and silver operation in the central region of the country.
The orders, which were submitted in the June and September quarters, include dozens of mine trucks, loaders and drilling rigs. A Boomer L2 face drilling rig is also part of the company’s purchase request.
The equipment maker has already started making deliveries of the units and will continue to do so through part of 2018.
Atlas Copco said all machines ordered will be delivered equipped with its Certiq telematics solution, which will allow automated and intelligent monitoring of both machine performance and productivity.
“Atlas Copco is proud to be a vital partner to Kazakhmys Corporation as it expands its mining operations in a productive way,” mining and rock excavation technique business unit president Helena Hedblom said. “With our equipment Kazakhmys Corporation will increase productivity while improving work environment for the operators and lowering the life-cycle cost.”
