Downer secures new Fortescue deal

Contractor grows its ties with miner, inks Eliwana contract.

A contract covering early mine development and maintenance over two years during the establishment of the mine site transitions to an autonomous mining fleet and iron ore production from year three.

Downer inked a bulk earthworks contract for Eliwana last year.

Mining is expected to start in December. Eliwana has projected annual production of 170 million tonnes over a 20-year mine life.
