Jac Rijk Al-Rushaid will operate drilling, scaling, loading, hauling, re-handling, ore control and dewatering at the US$880 million mining project. The mine and mineral processing plant is expected to produce 250,000 ounces of gold annually,
The Mansourah and Massarah project, which is due to start production in 2023, is targeted to produce 25% of gold towards Ma'aden's strategic target of 1 million ounces per year by 2025.
Ma'aden's noted that last year, 74% of its supply chain was placed with local suppliers.
"This [Jac Rijk Al-Rushaid] investment represents Ma'aden's commitment to maximizing the mining industry's contribution to the development of local content," said the company.
The Mansourah and Massarah project is part of Vision 2030, a movement to diversify revenue for the Saudi economy away from oil.
