Metso stated that the crusher is designed according to the highest quality standards, which offers La Fontana the opportunity to increase productivity while adhering to strict environmental regulations. In addition to the crusher, Metso's delivery included two primary screens – the Nordberg CVB 1540-1P and the Nordberg CVB 2050-3.
Anderson Salinas, general manager of Arenas y Gravas La Fontana, noted: “The GP220 helps us to increase our monthly production from 14,000t to 30,000t. At the moment, its performance has already exceeded our expectations.”
Metso said that the new crusher has several advantages; for example, it combines high performance with operational flexibility, and its high-quality components maximise availability. In addition, thanks to its low energy consumption of only 200kW, the GP220 has a capacity up to 20-30% higher than other cone crushers in the same size class. The crusher weighs 10,500kg and has a maximum feed size of +200mm.
Diego Alejandro Pulido, dealer manager, Pacific Rim at Metso, said: “The Colombian market has always pioneered in adopting the latest crushing technologies, and Arenas y Gravas La Fontana is no exception. Together with the CVB1540-1P and CVB2050-3 screens, the arrival of the GP220 marks a milestone in the development of aggregates to introduce world-class technology.”
