Officials for the company said it is being provided C$99,900 (US$79,994) form NRC-IRAP for analytical characterisation research for auriferous arsenic-bearing mineral samples. It is a step that will help it provide valuable additional information to DST as it progresses with work with arsenic-bearing mineralised materials including arsenopyrite and cobaltite.

DST said the goal of NRC’s service, which will be performed during the current quarter at NRC’s Energy, Mining and Environmental Research Centre in Ottawa, is to give an in-depth technical characterisations of company-processed mineralised materials as it works to expand the applications of its technology.

“This programme is a logical step in strengthening our approach to arsenical materials and more fully integrate arsenic-removal processes with our arsenic vitrification technology,” DST’s Brian Howlett said. “[We are] currently working on development projects in the arsenopyrite and cobalt spaces that will benefit from this work.”

Dundee Sustainable Technologies is part of Dundee Corporation. DST has already filed, published and has been granted patents in numerous countries for the Canadian-developed processes.
