Sandvik is crushing it

Equipment maker adds three high-performing crushers to 800i line

With the new crushers - the CH830i, the CH840i and the CS840i - the series has been improved and extended to offer more intelligent crushing along with mechanical upgrades, better connectivity, advanced automation and rebuild possibilities.

The line is also connected to My Sandvik, which allows operators to make fact-based decisions and also directly see areas for improvement, which in turn can boost availability and uptime.

Sandvik noted that the new-generation ACS, which is now standard, could help the mine by continuously monitoring and optimising crusher performance and controlling the complete lubrication system.

Put together, the line now offered safer and more sustainable crushing, according to the company.

"Bolted rather than welded top and bottom shell liners make changing 90% faster," Sandvik said. "The over-pressure system keeps dust out, and the standard offline filter keeps oil cleaner, extending oil life by up to five times.

"More power output from less energy and more uptime through intelligent crushing make the 800i series a safer, more sustainable choice."

The 800i crusher series can be purchased new, but mines also have the option of selecting a Sandvik Reborn solution to replace an existing crusher. Either way, the installation is "plug and play" to allow for maximum productivity and minimum disruption.

Mats Dahlberg, who serves as vice president of lifecycle service for Sandvik's stationary crushing and screening business, added that the units could increase productivity by up to 10%.

"New, digital technologies will transform the way mines and quarries work," he said. "My Sandvik is the first major step in gaining insights into productivity and predictive maintenance that will drive our industry forward."
