The EZshot detonator series, with accurate electronic delay timing, for underground blasting was brought out at the beginning of last year, and now Dyno Nobel is ready to extend its range with the EZshot EZDet for surface applications.
The new units consist of a green shock tube with a surface detonator attached to one end and a high-strength in-hole electronic detonator on the other. The surface detonator is set inside of a colour-coded plastic EZ Connector block to facilitate easy connections to shock tube leads and can hold up to six shock tube leads.
Dyno Nobel explained that the easy-to-read, colour-coded delay tags would display the delay number and nominal firing time prominently to ensure ease of use.
Units can be connected to one another to satisfy basic blast design requirements at quarry, mining and construction operations.
They can also be used in combination with the company's NONEL MS, NONEL EZTL and/or NONEL TD detonators for more complex blast design requirements and to minimise the inventory of initiation system components.
