A landslide in northern Myanmar has led to at least one dead and dozens missing at a jade mine, Reuters reported.
The landslide occurred in the Hpakant area of Kachin State, which hosts most of the country's jade resources. Myanmar produces 90% of the world's jade.
The landslide is believed to have dislodged waste at the jade mine, sweeping about 80 people into a nearby lake.
Rescue workers said one dead body was floating in the wake, and believe all others swept away by the landslide had also died.
Local media reported that dozens were missing, Reuters said.
Landslides are frequent in Hpakant, with a landslide last weekend killing at least six.
Myanmar's jade mines employ many poor migrants from China, and are poorly regulated.
