UK-listed mining company Tigers Realm Coal (TIG) has said the construction of its Coal Handling and Process Plant (CHPP) at the Amaam North coal mine in Far-Eastern Russian province of Chukotka might be delayed due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The company said some of its overseas equipment and service providers have "expressed their concern" concerning onsite visits.
According to Craig Wiggill, chairman of Tigers Realm Coal, uncertainty around travel will push back the completion date of the commissioning of the CHPP.
However, Wiggill said the company is "looking at alternative commissioning options such as remote oversight of electronic and IT componentry."
"In the circumstances of a possible delay in the full commissioning of the CHPP and the uncertainty that we face in the current environment, our coal production and sales plan is being reviewed for the coming months," Wiggill said.
The Amaam North coal mine has an annual capacity of approximately two million tonnes and an estimated total resource of 20.6 million tonnes.
