WorleyParsons to provide Tanami EPCM services

Newmont has awarded WorleyParsons with an EPCM contract for its Tanami gold mine in Australia

The four-year EPCM contract's aim is to establish deep-shaft and related mining infrastructure to increase production at the underground operation.

Under the contract, WorleyParsons will provide services including pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and performance testing services.

WorleyParsons CEO Andrew Wood said: "We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Newmont and supporting the further development of the Newmont Tanami operation."

Newmont has fully owned and operated the mine, located in the remote Tanami Desert, since 2002.
