Nevada Copper began production at Pumpkin Hollow's processing plant in Yerington, Nevada, in December and aims to hit full commercial production in the first half of 2020.
As such, the company is now entering a new phase of development to facilitate this target and support ongoing operations.
It has engaged Redpath as the principal underground mining contractor for the works, replacing Cementation USA.
Nevada Copper CEO Matt Gili said the company had developed a "straightforward strategy" for the ramp up of the underground project, which is expected to produce 65 million pounds copper-equivalent annually.
Pumpkin Hollow also includes a fully permitted open-pit development, which is currently advancing towards feasibility status.
