The remote control system allows the operator to manage the bulldozer from an operator chair in the control room with video feed from cameras mounted on the machine. The bulldozer operates in an underground mine on Stjernøy island, north of Norway.

The companies said the delivery is a major step forward for Sibelco in its efforts to improve safety and productivity in its mines. The remote control system will allow operators to work from a safe distance, reducing the risk of accidents. It will also improve efficiency, as operators will be able to control the bulldozer more precisely.

Håvard Dyrkolbotn, the Mining Manager at Sibelco in Stjernøy,said: "The remote control system will improve our productivity and safety in the mine. It enables us to dispose biproducts efficiently, and thereby reduce our environmental impact."

Lars Tronsmoen, the CTO of Steer, is proud and pleased with the delivery: "It has been a pleasure to cooperate with Sibelco in Stjernøy. They have shown great interest and trust in us and our solution, and we are happy to see that it has met their expectations and needs."

Sibelco mines in Stjernøy are industrial minerals mines that produce nepheline syenite, a white, feldspathic rock that is used in a variety of applications, including glassmaking, ceramics, and fillers.
