The Ranger DX series, suitable for use in construction, quarrying and open-pit mining, now includes two additional non-cabin rigs - the Ranger DX600R and DX800R - based on the earlier Ranger DX600 and DX800 models.

The new machines offer the same features as the conventional Ranger DX series rigs, including a large drilling coverage area from the standard 17.6m2 to an optional 26.4m2, but in a lighter, more mobile package.

With efficient radio remote control capabilities, the DXR rigs can also reach areas that have been off limits to operators, making them a suitable solution for hazardous conditions.

The remote-control panel includes tramming control functionalities for fast hole-to-hole movements and precise hole spotting, the OEM said.

In terms of productivity, Sandvik claimed, the rigs' revolving superstructure enables up to 60% more holes to be drilled per set-up compared to conventional top-hammer drill rigs.

The Ranger DXR series drill rigs are designed for 64mm to 127mm hole size range, with drill rod sizes between 38mm and 51mm.

More than 30 features can be added to the standard configuration of the machine, such as an extended superstructure turning radius, advanced measurement systems and upgraded dust control.
