The 35-tonne class dump truck has a loading capacity of up to 23 cubic metres. Its Mercedes OM 470 engine with 320kW output and diesel particulate filter aid in the machine's compliance with the Stage V emissions standard.
The engine in the MK-A35, designed for medium to large operating environments, especially hard-rock mass mining and tunnelling, is also available as Tier 3 with an output of 300kW.
The truck is the largest of its kind in GHH's range. It has been outfitted with a robust frame, swivel joint, transmission and systems requiring simple maintenance.
The company also touted the efficiency of use and operation of the newly revamped machine.
"With the upgraded MK-A35, the Germans are now going much further. The ROPS/FOPS-certified cab of this dump truck has a bi-directional design; there are separate control elements for forward and reverse driving," GHH officials said.
"If you want to get out of the tunnel, the driver simply turns his seat and accelerates. No time-consuming turning in confined spaces (if at all possible), no confusing reversing, no physical strain on the driver as before."
