Komatsu rolls out new excavators

Komatsu America says Dash 11 models offer more horsepower, productivity

Both new models are Tier 4 Final emissions certified, with SAA6D170E-7 engines onboard and two Komatsu diesel particulate filters (KDPF) that do not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or a selective catalyst reduction (SCR) system.

Komatsu, which has designed the new units for mining as well as sewer, water, and mass excavation applications, said that the PC1250SP-11 and the PC1250LC-11 have a new single 'Power +' operating mode leaving fuel consumption uncompromised. In addition, operator comfort ergonomics have been improved.

In fact, to that end, the upgraded quieter operator cab is 90mm wider than the current Dash 11 excavator cabs; each is OPG Level 1 (ISO 12117-2) compliant with standard OPG Level 2 (ISO 10262) top guard.

To top it off, an upgraded, high-resolution, 7in (17.8cm) LCD color monitor panel brings the user a split-display mode with a KomVision camera display and key gauges, along with an auxiliary jack to connect MP3 players or other digital devices. Auto idle and auto idle shutdown can help keep fuel consumption in check, and Komtrax Plus Version 2 gives mines an expanded fleet monitoring view via satellite and wireless LAN.

Mines can order an optional, hydraulically-powered ladder on the new models as well to provide easier access to the machine cab and left side walkway.

"The PC1250 offers exceptional customer value across a broad range of applications," senior product manager of tracked equipment Kurt Moncini said.

The PC1250LC-11 operating weights vary between 122.2t and 125.1t, the OEM confirmed.

The PC1250SP-11 operating weights vary between 118.2t and 120.9t.

Both include Komatsu CARE service packages.
