Under the revised agreement, Sandvik will cease distribution and support of Getman utility vehicles in some territories, while it will retain exclusive distributor rights in other select areas.

Specifically, Sandvik will now be the exclusive distributor of Getman products for PT Freeport Indonesia in Irian Jaya, Indonesia; at the De Beers Venetia mine in South Africa; at the Vale, Brio Gold and Nexa Resources properties in Brazil; and for all customers in Mexico.

"Sandvik and Getman have strategically re-evaluated the synergies of the two organisations in the marketplace and how to best align them with their customer needs [and] … have collectively reviewed the common best interests of both parties," the companies said.

The transition of the existing territories will be completed by June 30, 2020; Sandvik said that, in the meantime, it will continue to provide uninterrupted service to its current users of Getman equipment.

"We believe this is a good opportunity for Getman and Sandvik," Sandvik Mining and Rock Technolog's underground drilling president Jaakko Koppinen said.

"We hope that everyone will understand the circumstances and will respect the prior commitments and potential customer concerns at all times. There is no change to our business, policy or approach."
